Happy VolunteerYou may be like many people who ask the following questions:

  • Where can I be of most help?
  • Which program best fits my skills and experience?
  • Which program will give me the best opportunity to further my career?
  • Which placement best fits the time I have available?
  • Which country would you recommend for someone who has not travelled abroad before?
  • Can you cater for my special requirements?
  • I do not have much in the way of skills. Can I still be of help?

If any of the questions above “ring true” for you
then read on...

What do others think about GVN?

“The Global Volunteer Network is an organization that I can fully support. They have 25 projects all over the world working closely with local community organizations. From building schools to providing emergency food supplies they work with the communities to provide them with the resources they need.”

Debra Corbeil, ThePlanetD – adventure travel blog

“Global Volunteer Network is one of [the] best-known organisations that offers volunteering programs in more than 20 countries. Volunteers can [help] local organisations achieve their goals, which is a great way to combine helping people and organisations, changing the world in a better way, and having a great time. And Global Volunteer Network is a great way to do this!

More and more the focus of development organisations and volunteering organisations like Global Volunteer Network is based on helping organisations and people to help themselves instead of just giving money. Global Volunteer Network is based on giving time and experience, and getting back a great time and experiences.”

Marc van Opstal, writer 12volunteer blog

Elizabeth“Global Volunteer Network is a catalyst for creating huge changes in the way we as a people treat and respect one another. I have never had such a deep respect for a benevolent organization in my life...I have had the incredible honor of participating in a humanitarian project that has direct, positive outcomes.  GVN empowers me to want to continue serving my community, wherever it is that I reside. My experiences here make me want to be a better person.”

Elizabeth Hutter – journal excerpt from Vietnam

Sami"I have volunteered twice for GVN and both times I found that GVN did the ground work necessary for me to go into a remote area so I could safely do the work I volunteered for. You go with a feeling of security that you're not out there alone. Yes, physically you may be but GVN is not far away!
