For this adventurous fundraising trek, GVN has partnered with a wonderful little non-profit organization named Peruvian Hearts. Peruvian Hearts supports needy orphanages in Peru and was founded by Ana Dodson in 2003 when she was remarkably only eleven years old. Ana was adopted as a baby from Cuzco, Peru and grew up in Colorado, USA.
Ana’s brother, Danny Dodson, is the Executive Director of Peruvian Hearts and together, as their organisations mission suggests, this brother and sister duo are ‘changing the world, one heart at a time’. Danny has visited Peru on many occasions and formed a close bond with the land and its people. In this special piece, Danny shares with us how the Machu Picchu Fundraising Trek is changing the lives of children living at the Hogar (children’s home) in Cusco.

Because of the popularity of this hike, and the small number of national park permits issued, participants interested in the trek, set for the 16th-24th of August 2009 should apply up as soon as possible and pay their application fees no later then early January 2009 in order to confirm a place on this amazing trip! Don’t miss this opportunity to visit one of the most important and beautiful archaeological discoveries of modern time. By signing up for this trek you will also be lending much needed help to Peruvian children in need.
