ASIA PACIFIC EMERGENCY APPEAL FOR DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS

Typhoons, earthquakes, and tsunamis have wrought death and destruction in the Asia Pacific region this week. Hundreds of lives have been lost, many are still missing, and hundreds of thousands of people have been affected.

In response, the GVN Team has launched an Asia Pacific Emergency appeal to assist three communities in desperate need who are

particularly dear to our hearts - our partner in the Philippines, our partner in Vietnam, and Samoa, the island neighbouring our headquarters here in New Zealand.

I urge you to please consider making a donation to one of our emergency appeals or volunteer and assist on the ground.

100% OF YOUR DONATION WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE FUND.

PHILIPPINES DISASTER RELIEF FUND
Typhoon Ketsana has rampaged through the Philippines, killing over 330 people and forcing millions to flee their homes. Officials have reported that 2.3 million people had their homes flooded, and 400,000 were seeking help in relief centers.

Vietnam - Bundle of Joy!

5:34pm 13 March 2009
Filed under: GVN, News, Partnerships, Vietnam

Congratulations to Huong and Hoi on the birth of their baby daughter!! Much loved DaNang Placement Manager Huong gave birth to baby ‘Honey’ at 5:00am on February 26th. At 11 days overdue Honey finally came into this world weighing in at 3.5kgs. Unfortunately the beautiful baby girl developed a slight newborn rash all over her which led to a course of antibiotics and the infamous Vietnamese Blue Dye treatment for a week. Thankfully both Mum and baby are doing well and were very excited to be going home yesterday. GVN Vietnam and all our volunteers are thrilled about the new addition to their team!
