The GVN Community Fund was established to support the work of our partners in supporting communities in need. We choose to work with organisations formed by people from within the local community, who are in the best position to determine their needs. As well as providing them with volunteers, we also aim to supply our partner organisations with resources so that they are able to continue and enhance their work in their local communities.
In March 2006 we will be hiking through the South Island of New Zealand to raise funds for struggling New Zealand families. Funds raised will allow families with terminally ill or disabled children, single parent families and families that have just suffered the death of a loved one to take a vacation. Due to financial and emotional strain these families do not have the resources to take a break from the stresses of their lives. Our fundraiser will allow them to take a week long, expense paid vacation.
Please visit our Community Fund site for more details.
