Toby Malcolm 's Profile

Team Leader

Toby is the Team Leader of the New Zealand Nature Program. His education includes a Bachelor of Resource Management (ecology major) from Lincoln University (N.Z.). He has a passion for nature conservation and environmental action, and for this reason has previously volunteered much of his own time from a young age. He has run environmental clubs, has been a representative with the Greenpeace NZ 'Green Team' and has led campaigns on issues such as whaling and battery hen farming.

Why did you end up working at GVN?:

Applied for a position advertised online in 2003 and got the job!

What's the best thing about working for GVN?

Working with loads of great people working together to make a positive difference in the world

When you're not at work, what's your favourite activity?

Resting and relaxing and/or travelling

What's your favourite food?

My flatmate Tracy's amazing curries, they are the best

If you could be animal, what would it be?

It would definately be a bird of some kind so I could cruise around easily, perhaps a NZ Falcon.

If you could go anywhere just now, where would it be?

The moon would be pretty fascinating, or a quick drop-in to mars to check out the local wildlife.

Who are your favourite bands/musicians?

The Bee Gees, The Doors, The Police, basically mostly 80s gold.
